Community College Residency Program (CCRP) Institutional Application

The Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program brings international professionals working in strategic fields to the United States for a year of non-degree graduate level study, leadership development, and professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts. (For more information about the program please visit https://www.humphreyfellowship.org/). The Humphrey Fellows Community College Residency Program (CCRP) – sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) – is a way to offer the participating Humphrey Fellows exposure to a unique aspect of the American higher education system and share their professional expertise with Americans in a new area of the United States.

Each participating community college will design a week-long program for the Humphrey Fellow(s) that incorporates him/her into the life of the college in accordance with the mutual interests of the college and the Fellow.

Required activities for the week should include:

    • At least 2 speaking engagements through which the Fellow(s) can share their professional expertise or home country experiences with the campus and/or with the broader community surrounding the campus
    • Arrange a community service activity with a local partner
    • Meetings with faculty, administration, students and other community stakeholders as related to Fellows’ interests and professional background
    • Participation in class sessions, receptions and other institutional or community events
    Additional suggested activities may include:
    • Tour of campus and other related facilities of interest
    • Tour of surrounding community and visits to noteworthy sites in the area
Each participating community college will be given a $250 grant from the Humphrey Program in advance of the Fellow’s visit.  These grant funds should be used for expenses like group meals, arranging a reception, mileage reimbursement or any other cost associated with arranging the week-long stay.  These grant funds should not be used to cover any direct costs for the Fellow such as individual meal or supply purchases or lodging expenses. Attempts should be made to provide a homestay opportunity for the fellow should the host volunteer his/her services.

If a homestay is not available, each participating college should offer suggestions to the Fellow at a nearby reasonably priced lodging facility for the nights associated with the visit (they should make their own reservation).  The Fellow will be provided with funds in advance to pay for the hotel (as well as other direct costs during the week-long visit.)

All institutions interested in hosting a Humphrey fellow or fellows, must submit the following application by October 16, 2024 at 11:59PM EST
